A quick glance at the site stats has alerted me to the fact that there are lots of new visitors to these fine pages of late.If you are a newcomer, allow me to bring you up to speed:

I am a digital / laptop DJ from the farthest West of Cornwall. I have been DJing publicly for about 4 years. In that time I’ve played at some of the biggest and best events in the SW, including Boardmasters, Leopalooza, and Masked Balls, as well as many venues, from house parties to beaches to clubs. I also DJ private events of all kinds, and have played in Bristol, Birmingham and Northampton.

I am a featured artist on www.littlesouth.com, and a regular contributor to their podcast series. Listen to my latest here.

I am an experienced promoter and began putting on events at university more-years-ago-than-I-care-to-admit. More recently I have been heavily involved in running a local community festival.

I currently present live radio shows for Penwith Radio and Brap.FM and occasional guest slots on SourceFM.

I hope that gives you a brief introduction and  will encourage you to explore these pages for latest mixes, upcoming appearances and even more about me! If you are here because you’ve enjoyed a set, please be good enough to post a suitably positive comment on my “Testimonials” page.

Follow the links on the contact page or find my details to the right if you’d like to get in touch.

Playing out for the summer….

A quick, irregular post to bring a whole clutch of new gigs to your attention. Over the next few weeks I’ll be covering Cornwall from St.Just to Bude, plus some new venues (for me) closer to home.

See the Gig Guide for full details, and be sure to get along to one or more…

If these gigs are anywhere near as good as recent nights at Bass Kitchen in Bristol, or the  Star in St Just, then we are in for a great summer.

Also check out my latest mix which sees a new excursion into D’n’B…..find it on the Music page…

Fasten your seatbelts….

Time to get busy…this weekend sees the summer madness begin.

This weekend is the amazing Masked Ball high on the cliffs of Porthleven .

You can catch me playing between the bands on the Upper Terrace throughout the evening and then playing the closing set in “Disco In Kernow” at 4am! That’ll sort the real party-goers from the rest!

Can’t wait – come and say hello!

My gig guide is up to date, so check to see where I am playing over the summer – some very exciting gigs coming up. Subscribe to the RSS feed on my Gigs page to be kept bang up to date.

Most recent mixes also now available on the music page.

Right on – bring on the madness!!

Well, haven’t really been away! But have neglected this blog of late.

So, time to bust out of winter hibernation and get up to speed for what is panning out to be a cracking 2013…….

….to be continued x

Masked Ball Set now available

Last weekend saw the Halloween Masked Ball, the best party in the SW since ….well, the last Masked Ball in May. A brilliantly organised, inspirationally produced and carefully executed feast, the awesome event featured Mylo, Herve, Brandon Block, Cuban Brothers plus the cream of Cornish DJs. And me!!

Now you can experience the whole thing again, or at least an hour of it, by listening to my set, as played at 2.30am in the “Titty Twister”. Unfortunately, I can’t bring the dancing girls (and snakes) into your room, but hopefully can provide a taste of the mad-for-it party vibe going off. Happy days!

Find the mix here on my Music page.

Enjoy x

It’s music, Jim, but not as we know it…..

Another weekend comes shuddering to a halt – another pair of gigs under the belt.

So  excited about the next few weeks it’s silly!!

Next weekend is the big weekend!

Friday is the spookily good B-Side Halloween special at Bunters in Truro with ‘The Adventures of’, ‘Weazledust’ and  yours truly providing the scary tunes. Fancy dress gets you in free – got to be worth the effort.

Then it’s Super-Saturday!! After a potentially messy private party, I’ll be heading for the Lizard for the awesome Halloween Masked Ball.

The set times and locations are out – and I couldn’t be more delighted!! You can find me on the decks of the “Dark Star”, which is the UFO of the Aurora Project, between 1am and 2am, sandwiched neatly between Snatch The Wax and Cakeboy.

As if that wasn’t enough, my debut podcast for LittleSouth.com is scheduled for release on  5th November! Obviously it’s going to be full of bangers and will rocket it’s way to your inbox! (Sorry!)

Finally – heads up for NYE – if you are in St Just or nearby, I’m going to be playing NYE at the Star Inn on Fore Street. So leave the car at home, forget about extortionate taxi fares and stay local – it’s going to be memorable, that’s for sure! And if you are not sure what that could possibly be like, I’ll be there on Nov 17th as a warm up!! Come along for a great party atmosphere!

Beats, Balls and Bangers!!

Despite the drop in temperature and the darkening evenings, the next few weeks are hotting up nicely. Of course it’s all in my Gig Guide, but a couple of the events deserve a little more light;

First up is the B-Side John Peel Day Special.

.A real eclectic selection of artists and DJs will be  paying tribute to the legendary radio host

It’s going to be a great night and the frst act will be on at 7pm, so don’t be late!!The following week sees things really happening!

t’s going to get pretty spooky as, yes, it’s Halloween! The bumps and general nastiness will commence on Friday 26th Oct at B-Side Halloween special. See the poster here for full details.

And then, it’s the BIG one!

The Halloween Masked Ball. I have been looking forward to this one since the Masked Ball in May, which was without doubt one of the best nights  I’ve been lucky enough to play at. The good news is they have asked me back, and I couldn’t be more excited. Just look at the line-up to see why!

Set times / locations will released soon, and tickets are on sale now – see www.maskedball.net for details.

In amongst this general messiness I have a couple of great private parties to look forward to, plus the iminent arrival of my first LittleSouth podcast. More details of that very soon….

Big news on Little South

I am very excited to announce that I am now a profiled DJ on the South-West nightlife site littlesouth.com.

Not only does this give me massive exposure, but it also puts me in the company of some brilliant DJs and Producers – many of whom I have seen, met and admired – and that is just awesome.

Little South also releases a fortnightly podcast of exclusive mixes from it’s featured DJs. Look out for details of my first mix very soon. Better still, go to the site and subscribe to the podcast now and you’ll never miss one.

Party season….

…is just around the corner! The “summer” is well and truly fading into distant memory, the nights are drawing in and temperatures are falling, but there are many excuses for partying coming up – Halloween, Bonfire night, Feast, countless birthdays (mine included), and before you’ve had a chance to say “shameful rampant capitalist institution” , Christmas and New Year!

So if you need a quality DJ for your party, please get in touch to discuss what I can do for you. I can’t offer Karaoke, cheesy light-boxes or cringe-inducing announcements, but I can offer a crowd-pleasing, floor-filling selection of top tunes tailored to your party.

Check my Gig Guide for availability and my Testimonials to see what others have said.

Finally, you can always get into the party vibe with this stonking mix:
