After a few distractions over the last few weeks (y’know, the usual – festivals to organise, punk/rap debuts to make etc) it’s been good to get back on the decks this week.
First off came the latest edition of The Melting Pot on Brap.FM. This went out on Tuesday, but you can hear it or download it anytime in the archives or get the podcast from iTunes. Well worth a listen this one!
Friday saw the July installment of Razzmatazz Pz, which was another cracking night, this time with the brilliant Fire Island Pines. You can get their debut EP for free here – give it a listen, it’s a fine example of intelligent indie-pop.
This turned out to be the last Friday night in the Studio Bar’s current incarnation – the venue is on the move! Watch this space for details of the next Razzmatazz venture.
Last night saw me take the reins at Toast in Falmouth – rapidly becoming my favourite venue, it’s a cool bar with a great chilled vibe. Possibly my busiest night there yet, as usual it was great fun. Check it out (Great food too) – I’ll be there next on Saturday 27th August (Bank Hol).
I have uploaded a new mix which I knocked up a few weeks ago. A short, sharp 20 minute affair, it’s a selection of funky breaks and wobbly bass bangers with a nod firmly in the direction of the Ghetto-Funk posse, Krafty Kuts and A-Skillz. Check it out now on the music page right here.
This coming weekend it’s all about Sound! The Pz club is having a VIP party to celebrate it’s first year in it’s new guise on Friday 29th July.
I’m delighted that I’ll be hosting in Room 2, while the main room is headlined by Hong Kong Ping Pong. Also catch DJ Louis J in the bar area, and residents Boris, CQ and JP. It’s going to be a cracking night – see you there….
