A busy week on Penwith Radio…

This week is going to be a great week for music lovers on Penwith Radio, so I just wanted to draw your attention to the following treats:

Weds 1st Dec at 3-4pm – I’ll be guest presenting this afternoon slot to host a special guest, Claire Nicolson. This up-and-coming singer will be rolling into town at the beginning of her ‘Sing For Your Supper Tour’ to promote her debut single Toothpaste and Whiskey! Claire has played in Jools Holland’s band, appears on Martina Topley-Bird’s new album and played with many artists including Tom Jones, Dodgy, Kula-Shaker, Mike ¬†Oldfield & Sam Brown. Tune in for a live session and interview. Check out the video for the single here.

Thursday 2nd Dec 6-8pm – In my regular show , The PM Show, I’ll be joined by guests El Cherino. This young Hayle 3 piece will be playing live in the studio and telling me where that name came from!

Friday 3rd Dec 4-5pm – I’ll be co-hosting an hour of the Drivetime show to welcome Liz Lawrence into the studio ahead of her gig at the Zero Lounge. Singer songwriter¬†Liz was described by Tom Robinson on his BBC 6 introducing show as ‘amazing’. She’ll be joining me live for a chat and to share a couple of songs with us. I’ve heard a couple of tracks and Liz has a fantastic voice – you’ll want to remember where you heard her first!

Competition Time

Phew! As if that wasn’t enough – we’ll be running a competition from Weds to Fri for the fabulous prize of two tickets to see Angus & Julia Stone at Falmouth Princess Pavilions on Fri 10th December. There will also be copies of their new CD up for grabs. Listen in from 10am on Weds to hear the question and email the answer into team@penwithradio.co.uk by 5pm on Friday, when the winners will be drawn at random and announced before 6pm.

Listen Again

Finally, these are just some of the great features and guests we get on Penwith Radio. If you’ve missed any of my recent guests, you can listen to them for a short time here. Currently available are interviews with ex Sex Pistol Glen Matlock, Paul Humphreys of OMD, Miles Hunt of the Wonder Stuff, and Jez from the Levellers.

Today I’ve mostly been listening to…

James Taylor Quartet – smooooth!
